COVID-19 Updates 3/14/2020

I am trying to update this blog regularly; information changes so rapidly, sometimes hourly, so it can be challenging to keep up. My best advice is to check the CDC website frequently, particularly the section dedicated to schools and child care centers: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/guidance-for-schools.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2F2019-ncov%2Fspecific-groups%2Fguidance-for-schools.html. This page includes a decision tree to assist with considerations about school and center closures.

This page provides information on proper cleaning and disinfecting: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/cleaning-disinfection.html

This page provides checklists for teachers and parents: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/checklist.html

This website sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics offers guidance for families: https://www.healthychildren.org/english/health-issues/conditions/chest-lungs/pages/2019-novel-coronavirus.aspx

The Maine CDC frequently updates local information: https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/airborne/coronavirus.shtml

Additionally, the Maine CDC and 211 Maine have launched a new option for Mainers to get answers to questions about COVID-19 at any time. This service is available by dialing 211 (or 1-866-811-5695), texting your ZIP code to 898-211, or emailing info@211maine.org.

As always, if you have unique situations for which you cannot find answers through these resources, please reach out and I’ll do my best to find answers for you.

Stay well!

Deb
